Privacy
Local Originals is a production company with hubs in Los Angeles, Rome and Cape Town. This page says what we do with the details you send us and how we count visits to the site. Questions go to nathan@localoriginals.com.
The contact form
Your name, email address and message go to Formspree, a US-hosted form service, and on to our inbox. We use them only to reply to you. They are never shared and never added to a list. Ask and we will delete them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how many people visit and which chapters of the site get read. It runs without cookies unless you choose Allow in the Telemetry panel. If you allow it, Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies for up to two years so a return visit counts as the same visitor. Nothing here is used for advertising, and Google's advertising signals stay off.
Google processes this data on our behalf. Transfers to the United States are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We keep event data for 14 months. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
Your choice
Change it any time with Privacy in the footer of the home page. Your choice is kept in your browser for 12 months, then we ask again. The screenshot fixtures we use to test the site never load analytics.
Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, and the GDPR if you are in the EU or UK, you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. Email nathan@localoriginals.com. You can also raise a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
